Indigenous Heritage
Surveys have been conducted across the site in an attempt to locate sites of aboriginal significance. No sites have been identified however the promontory at the convergence of the two tributaries of the Matahil Creek has been identified as the area most likely to have been used by indigenous people.
Historical Use and Ownership
The land has been predominantly used for the grazing of cattle.
The site is part of the original land grant made to John Macarthur in 1805. His daughter donated a parcel of land in 1882 including the site to the Crown.
The site was dedicated as a Bicentennial Park in 1988 and in June 1994 the land was transferred to Camden Council from the Department of Planning.
In 1999 the Park was dedicated by Camden Council as an equestrian facility with some passive recreation use.
European Heritage
No items of European heritage have been identified on the site, except for the old barn at the top of the hill, known as Lynn Farm.
